Teaching Resources

Teaching with Keats
Ezra Jack Keats is often praised for seeming to fully inhabit a child’s mind. It can also be said that he had the soul of an educator. Teachers easily find lessons in reading, art, nature and social relationships in Keats’s books, while children delight in the humor and familiarity of his words and pictures. Ezra wanted to cultivate a love of reading and learning that would last for a child’s lifetime and open the door to a diverse body of illustrated literature that could speak to all children. His books continue to do just that.
